To provide for the life, safety and welfare of our Village through efficient, unbiased enforcement of industry standards in the building environment and to ensure professional, knowledgeable, and comprehensive plan review and inspection in a timely fashion.
Hours of Operation:
The Building Department is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Contractor permits may be applied for on the internet at AccessMyGov.com. Click Here for step by step instructions. Hard copy permit applications may still be submitted for major projects. All major credit cards and checks are accepted for payment at the counter or through the AccessMyGov website. Permit submissions in person can be dropped off no later than 4:30 p.m.
Please contact the Building Department to obtain your Contractor Web PIN for AccessMyGov in order to submit for online permits or schedule / view inspections.
Inspections are performed Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.

Be sure to include:
- Job address
- Permit number
- Type inspection
- Contact name and telephone number
- Please do not call for inspection times as we simply cannot schedule exact inspection times
- Electrical service change-outs will be scheduled accordingly for FPL
Business Tax Receipts (aka, Occupational Licenses)The Village of Tequesta Code of Ordinances requires any business operating within the Village limits to have a Businesses Tax Receipt issued through the Building Department.
Business owners should contact the Building Department at 561-768-0450 to obtain the information needed to submit the application.
The Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance of the Village of Tequesta provides the requirements for all development located within the Village; even work exempt from Florida Building Code requirements. Building Department personnel are prepared to provide information regarding your property and whether or not it lies within a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA). Floodplain Development Permits are required prior to building permit issue if the project is located in an SFHA; Elevation Certificates and/or No-Rise/No-Impact Certifications may also be needed.
