This morning Village Council, former council members, staff, Hedrick Brothers (construction manager), REG (architect), and residents participated in the ground breaking ceremony for our new community center.
The new facility, located at the site of the former recreation center on Seabrook Road will be a 14,799 ft. multi-functional, environmentally friendly, sustainable, modern and energy-efficient building. The new center will accommodate programs with expanded times and offerings to better meet the needs of our residents and will include a gymnasium. Additionally, there will be rooms to serve passive recreation like adult education, senior health and wellness, homeowner association meetings, seminars, Mah Jonng, etc. Rooms for more active recreation such as exercise classes, yoga, tai chi, fencing are also included as well as a dedicated area to serve our youth and toddlers for gymnastics, open gym, mommy and me and more.
