Lighted Medians to Recognize Various Causes and Holidays

Median Lights_WEB.jpg

Our Public Works Department has started illuminating the median on Tequesta Drive near Cypress with colored lights in recognition of various causes.

2017 Schedule:

February - Red for Valentine's Day, President's Day and American Heart Association

March - Green for St. Patrick's Day

April - Yellow for Mother's Day

May - Red for Memorial Day

June - Purple for Alzheimer's Awareness Month and National Safety Month

July - Red/White/Blue for Independence Day

August - White for National Traffic Awareness Month

September - Blue for Labor Day and Blood Cancer Awareness Month

October - Pink for Columbus Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month

November - Orange for Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving

December - Red for Christmas

This is our small way of bringing attention to important causes and hopefully raise awareness. Only one color can be displayed at a time and we understand there are far more worthy causes than we can accommodate in one year.  Selecting an awareness color for a particular month was random and not mandated.  We will continue to work in years to come to select different worthy causes in hopes of meeting everyone's expectations. For more information contact Public Works at 561-768-0482.
