Newly Sworn in Council Members

Council Members Laurie Brandon (Seat 3) and Kristi Johnson (Seat 5) were sworn in on April 12, replacing long time members Steve Okun and Frank D’Ambra. Council Member Vince Arena, first elected in 2008, ran unopposed and returned for his sixth term.

Two new Council Members assumed seats on the Village of Tequesta Council and were sworn in on Thursday, April 12 at 6:00 p.m.. Council Members Laurie Brandon (Seat 3) and Kristi Johnson (Seat 5) replaced long time members Steve Okun and Frank D’Ambra.  Council Member Vince Arena, first elected in 2008, ran unopposed and returned for his sixth term. 

Kristi, the wife of a Tequesta police officer, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from the University of Florida. Over the past 18 years, her career has centered on finance, including experience in equities and commodities markets.

Laurie, a Native Floridian, studied art design, commercial marketing and business operations and has management experience in business and human resources. Laurie is an active member of the community, serving on the social committee for the Tequesta Country Club HOA, and is an active volunteer in the local schools.

Re-Elected Council Member

Council Member Vince Arena, first elected in 2008, ran unopposed and returned for his sixth term.  Council Member Arena previously served as the Village’s Vice-Mayor from 2011-2017, currently serves as the Village representative on the Loxahatchee River Management Council, as the alternate on the Palm Beach Countywide Coastal Council and Palm Beach County Intergovernmental Coordination Program.  Additionally, Vince can be found volunteering his time to cooking and grilling hot dogs during most Village events. 

 All three members bring a treasure of knowledge and expertise to the Village and are dedicated to ensuring the Village remains fiscally sound while at the same time ensuring the same or greater level of services are provided to our residents.
