The Village of Tequesta has chosen to provide the H1N1 vaccine to the Village of Tequesta Residents through the Fire-Rescue Department.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has opened the H1N1 vaccination to the general population of Palm Beach County. This means that all age groups can now receive the H1N1 vaccine. The vaccine is free and receiving it is voluntary.

We are currently asking you to call our H1N1 Hotline at 561-744-4052 and leave your name, address, and phone number. We will get back to you and set up an appointment.

The Village of Tequesta is pleased to announce it will offer H1N1 Vaccinations free-of-charge to Village residents. Tequesta Fire-Rescue Paramedics will administer the vaccination at the fire stations. Residents must register by calling the “H1N1 Vaccination Hotline” at 744-4052 and provide their name, address and phone number. As the vaccine shipments arrive, a fire-rescue representative will contact you to schedule an appointment.
Vaccines are expected to come in multiple small shipments and will be administered as long as supplies last. We recommend you register early!
Those wishing to receive the H1N1 Vaccination must fall within the “Target Population” as defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Currently that includes:
1) All pregnant women
2) All children ages 6 months to 24 years
3) All caregivers of children less than 6 months old
4) Adults between 24 and 49 years of age with underlying medical conditions such as Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Immunosuppressive diseases
5) Health Care Workers

The Tequesta Fire - Rescue is currently watching the Swine Flu situation closely. A state hotline is setup with operators who will speak English and Spanish. The number is 1-800-342-3557. You can also sign up for e-mail updates at www.doh.state.fl.us.
