Mr. Carlton Stoddard, former Village Mayor, expressed his pleasure with the engraving on the Fountain of Honor.  Carlton and his wife, Alberta (deceased) were instrumental in the creating the original fountain and traveled great distances to locate the Carolina rock which makes up the base.  The marble used on the rim is from the original Village Hall.

 Engraving on Fountain has Started
December 3, 2009

The engraving on the Village’s Fountain of Honor has started and the first 24 requests have been sketched by Unique Glass Art.

Village residents can honor their family name on the Village’s “Fountain of Honor” which is located on the Village Green.  The concept of the fountain is to provide a quiet, peaceful place for individuals to respect their loved ones.  The carved sections of the marble panels were preserved from the original Village Hall.  Former Mayors Edward D. Resnik, Carl Hansen, Elizabeth Schauer, and Carlton Stoddard helped set idea in motion.

The font selected by Council determines the number of characters allowed per line.  The number of characters per line are evaluated based on the space available. A longer name may require two lines (this will be determined when the proof is created by the vendor).  Each engraved line is $40.

For additional information and a copy of the engraving application, visit the Village's website at www.tequesta.org or visit the Village Hall lobby.  Click here for a registration form.
