Jupiter Federal Bridge
November 2023 Update - 11/2/2023
Today marks Day 745 of 1515, with approximately 49% completed.
The 90-foot United States Coast Guard-delineated channel is being maintained throughout construction and all boater access will be available during the holiday weekend.
Please note that per ordinance, the contractor can perform large noise activities between the hours of 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The team is very conscious of being good partners to local residents, restaurants and businesses, and do everything they can to avoid driving pile late into the day. However, once the pile program has started, it has to be completed as data is being collected and recorded and can’t be interrupted or delayed until the following day. If there is an issue with equipment or a weather delay, the pile driving can go into the evening – this is the exception, not the norm.
Nighttime work will be taking place within FDOT Right of Way during the month of November. The contractor will not be driving pile at night. FDOT and the project team prioritize being good partners and minimizing construction impacts, please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions, comments or concerns. We anticipate pile driving to be completed by the end of this month, barring any unexpected weather impacts or equipment failures.
Additional information - including updated traffic restrictions and progress photos, are available on the project page. You can also follow along with construction progress via FDOT District 4’s Instagram, X, and Facebook pages.
Bridge Closure Starts March 13, 2023
The bridge will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians for approximately 20 months. Traffic will be detoured to Alternate A1A. Access to adjacent properties and businesses will be maintained. Navigation through the channel will be maintained for marine traffic. Channel restrictions may occur.
In preparation for the closure, single lane closures in both directions will occur on US 1 between CR A1A and Alternate A1A/Beach Road beginning at 10 p.m. on March 12. In addition, law enforcement will direct traffic at the intersection of US 1 and Alternate A1A beginning at 10 p.m. on March 12.
