Charter Review Committee

The Village of Tequesta is looking for dedicated volunteers to serve on our Charter Review Committee.  If you have the time to dedicate to your Village, are a registered voter, and an "incorporated" Village of Tequesta resident, we encourage you to apply.  

The Charter Review Committee will make recommendations to Council on possible charter changes.  Charter amendments will be placed on the ballot at the March 2023 election to be considered by the voters.  Contact the Village Clerk's Office at 561-768-0440 with questions. 

Application deadline is Monday, August 2, 2021.

There are vacancies (due to terms ending on May 13) for the following Boards and Committees:

General Employee Pension Board

  • One Trustee Positions

Public Safety Pension Board

  • Two Trustee Positions

PUBLIC SAFETY PENSION TRUSTEE MEMBER 


The Public Safety Pension Board of Trustees meets quarterly on the 1 st Monday of the month (4 times per year) to review information regarding the Public Safety Pension Fund. The volunteer board position is open to residents over 18 years of age, who are registered voters within the Village of Tequesta. Members should have some background in Finance, Pension Funds, or related experience in the financial field. The current vacancies are due to incumbent Board Member term expirations. The Village Council shall fill the position during the May 13, 2021 Council Meeting. Pension Trustees serve for a two year term. 


GENERAL EMPLOYEE PENSION TRUSTEE MEMBER 


The General Employee Pension Board of Trustees meets quarterly on the 1 st Monday of the month (4 times per year) to review information regarding the General Employee Pension Fund. The volunteer board position is open to residents over 18 years of age, who are registered voters within the Village of Tequesta. Members should have some background in Finance, Pension Funds, or related experience in the financial field. The current vacancies are due to an incumbent Board Member term expiration. The Village Council shall fill the position during the May 13, 2021 Council Meeting. Pension Trustees serve for a two year term.

If you are interested in filling any of these positions, please submit the Boards and Committee Application by May 28, 2021.  

​Boards and Committees


The Village has four (5) active boards and committees, whose members are generally appointed by the Village Council (with a few exceptions). The boards and committees members are volunteers who have an interest in serving in a local governmental non-paid capacity for the betterment of their community.

The Boards are:

  • Environmental Advisory Committee
  • Community Center Advisory Committee
  • Planning and Zoning Board (and Local Planning Agency and One Cent Sales Tax Oversight)
  • General Employee Pension Board
  • Public Safety Pension Board
  • Environmental Advisory Committee 
Additional boards and committees can be established by the Village Council as the need arises.
