Florida Power & Light (FPL) Infrastructure Hardening Project
FPL is undertaking an infrastructure hardening project to enhance the reliability and resiliency of its power grid in the Village of Tequesta. As part of this initiative, FPL will replace wooden power poles with thicker Wooden Poles designed to withstand hurricane-force winds, reduce outages, and improve restoration efforts following storms.
Project Location:
Country Club Drive, from Tequesta Drive to Country Club Circle
The project will involve replacing 30 poles on both sides of Country Club Drive.
Project Timeline:
- Start Date: January 2, 2025
- Monday –Friday
- 7:30am - 5:00pm
- Duration: Approximately 9 weeks
Traffic and Safety Details:
- Lane Closures: Expect temporary lane closures throughout the project duration.
- Flagging Operations: Trained flaggers will manage traffic flow to ensure safety for residents, drivers, and workers.

- Stay Alert: Watch for workers, flaggers, and equipment in the construction area.
- Reduce Speed: Drive carefully in work zones and adhere to posted speed limits.
- Avoid Distractions: Stay focused on the road and avoid using mobile devices while driving.
- Follow Flaggers’ Directions: Obey instructions from flaggers to navigate the area safely.
- Plan Ahead: Allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes if possible.
