Dredging Project

Updated 1/15/26

The Jupiter Inlet District has contracted with Atlantic & Gulf Dredging to perform their 2026 Inlet Sand Trap Dredging Project.  Dredging is set to begin as soon as Saturday, January 17 and is expected to take about a month of 24-hr/day operations.

This is slightly earlier than typical, however, there remains a period of large sand volumes within and around the Jupiter Inlet.  The attached pre-construction survey of the sand trap shows approximately 120,000cy of sand within the trap.  This is double their historical average for this project. Recently, mariners have begun noting shoaling within the inlet sand trap area and are glad to have this project starting soon.
